A proud supporter of Molly's Miles

Becky (Lindsey Covington) Paneck, 66, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Boone Hospital Center after a long battle with cancer. Becky was a retired Columbia Police Department Sergeant, and was only the second female police officer on the force during her tenure. After serving with the department, she went on to work for the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency and served in several roles at local academic institutions.

In addition to her outstanding work in her professions, Becky was a talented artist. She was passionate about the mission of Molly's Miles and supported the event each year by creating plaques awarded to top race finishers. In 2017, Becky submitted a tiger to local Tigers on the Prowl charity in which, using paper mâché,  she displayed photos or badges of 671 law enforcement officers who had died in the line of duty. Proceeds from her tiger were provided to Missouri C.O.P.S.

Becky's fierce determination to make a difference in the world will not soon be forgotten. Many were touched by her generosity, talents, and love. We at Molly's Miles are honored to have been a part of that. We are humbled and  grateful to Becky's family for asking to have Becky memorialized through donations to our organization. We send our hearts to Becky's family; and to Becky:  Godspeed our sister. Until we meet again...

Per the family's request, donations to Molly's Miles in memory of Becky can be made using the button below.

About Us

Who we are

Molly's Miles Committee

Molly's Miles is a Missouri non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the survivors of fallen law enforcement officers. To do this, we hold an annual 5K, 10K, and Virtual Run wherein all proceeds benefit the Missouri Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.).

Our board is composed of volunteers from the University of Missouri Police Department, the Columbia Police Department, the Boone County Sheriff's Department, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and family, friends, and supporters of law enforcement officers.

Our history

Former Columbia Police Officer Molly Suzanne Thomas Bowden

Shortly after the 2016 Dallas police shooting tragedy, MUPD Lt. Buddy Anliker and his wife, Christie, were compelled to do something to assist those affected by losing their loved ones in the line of duty. In alignment with this objective, the family reached out to the Missouri Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) whose mission is to provide resources to assist in the rebuilding of lives of the survivors of Missouri law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. The Anliker's found the organization could use assistance in raising funds to continue to support affected families. With a passion for running, the Anlikers created the idea to hold a 5K in memory of fallen officers and to honor their survivors; all funds would benefit C.O.P.S. Molly's Miles is named after Columbia Police Officer Molly Bowden who was shot and killed in the line of duty in 2005.

Our mission

To bring everyone - law enforcement, youth, families, organizations, and runners - together to honor the memory of fallen law enforcement officers and the survivors they left behind.
