Molly's Miles is a Missouri 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring the survivors of fallen law enforcement officers. We hold an annual 5K, 10K, and Virtual Walk/Run wherein all proceeds benefit the Missouri Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.).
Our board is composed of volunteers from the University of Missouri Police Department, the Columbia Police Department, the Boone County Sheriff's Department, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and family, friends, and supporters of law enforcement officers.
To bring everyone - law enforcement, youth, families, organizations, and runners - together to honor the memory of fallen law enforcement officers and the survivors they left behind.
Shortly after the 2016 Dallas police shooting tragedy, MUPD Lt. Buddy Anliker and his wife, Christie, were compelled to do something to assist those affected by losing their loved ones in the line of duty. In alignment with this objective, the family reached out to the Missouri Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) whose mission is to provide resources to assist in the rebuilding of lives of the survivors of Missouri law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. The Anliker's found the organization could use assistance in raising funds to continue to support affected families. With a passion for running, the Anlikers created the idea to hold a law enforcement friendly 5K walk/run in memory of fallen officers and to honor their survivors; all funds would benefit C.O.P.S. Molly's Miles is named after Columbia Police Officer Molly Bowden who was shot and killed in the line of duty in 2005.
